Police have a bone to pick with two Texas women who allegedly stole more than $2,000 of meat from an H-E-B store in Temple.

Temple Police were called to the store on South 31 Street on Friday afternoon after the pair made off with a shopping cart full of meat.

A store employee noticed the women trying to exit without paying for the meat and tried to confront them, but the women were able to load all of it into their vehicle before the employee could pull the cart away, Temple police said in a news release.

The women fled before police arrived.

Also, the two let a runaway shopping cart damage a car in the parking lot, police said.

Anyone with information about the women is asked to contact Temple police at 254-298-5500 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477.
